This role is required to be on site in Port Charlotte FL but will be transitioning to fully remote before the end of the year

How will you make an impact & Requirements

The Diagnostic Scheduler utilizes email telephone and message requests to schedule patient testing for physician ordered diagnostic tests. S/he receives a message from any location for request for test scheduling and contacts patient to schedule within 24 hrs. Tests will be scheduled within a 48hr period of being ordered pending schedule and equipment availability. S/he notifies the office when patient/test is scheduled and provides patient instructions on the test they will receive over the phone. S/he schedules multiple tests at appropriate times without overlap and checks phone and email messages frequently throughout day. S/he understands STAT priority and schedules these patients first. S/he may assist in other areas as needed. S/he checks in patient notes for insurance changes and updates any personal contact information changes. S/he keeps a log of patients needing tests scheduled and records when complete; typically works alone with little supervision. All other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Contacts patients within 24 hrs. to schedule
Schedules tests within 48 hrs. of ordering
Does not overlap tests during scheduling
Provides patients with proper information regarding test protocol
Schedule STATS first
Updates patient notes with insurance/contact information as needed
Quick notification to offices when test is scheduled

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or accredited radiologic school; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
