Youʼll collaborate with teams across Apple to explore define and drive the development of next-generation camera.
The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research design development test and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. This team is seeking an exceptional Camera Image Quality Validation Engineer with responsibilities for ongoing evaluation benchmarking and characterization of Apple camera products.
Work closely with cross functional team support the entire development cycle of Apple cameras from early prototype to product launchnLead image quality validation at component and system levelsnComprehensively characterize and quantitatively assess camera performance and image qualitynFeedback and contribute to refinement and improvement of camera design and processnDevelop image processing algorithm for image quality metricsnIncubate new metrology for next-generation Apple products and support technology transfer from lab to production sitesnDeliver executive level presentations of results
BS in EE Optics Color Science or equivalentnExperience with Matlab and/or Python programming skillsnExperience with working in an optical labnExperience with bench or tester automation of data acquisition
MS/PhD in EE Optics Color Science or equivalent and 3 years of relevant industry experiencenDeep understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodologynExperience with deep learning for image segmentation object recognition and abnormal detectionnFamiliarity with camera components and functionsnExperience with camera ISP pipeline and 3AnExperience with megapixel CMOS image sensor technology lens selection and qualificationnExperience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis
