Position Summary:

The Welding Plant Supervisor (1st Shift 6:00am-2:30pm) supervises activities of the Steel Fabrication-Welding Team which fabricates conveyor steel products for material handling projects. Overseeing and organizing the welding equipment and processes on the production floor.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship
  • Must be available to workon-site daily in Hobart Indiana
  • Must be available to work 3rd shift hours 9:00pm-5:30am (Saturdays/OT will be required as well)
  • Demonstratedproficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions formulas and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability towork independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Acollaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strongattention to detail problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellentcommunication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting.

Salary Range: $70000.00-$90000.00

Responsibilities

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Leads the daily work of the team including scheduling staff planning and assigning work implementing policies and procedures and ensuring efficient work flow
  • Direct employees in meeting quality and on-time delivery requirements address production challenges and communicate issues to relevant managers
  • Follow the dispatch due dates and send repors with updates on the end of your shift to your manager and plant manager
  • Partner with production department in managing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks
  • Lead 6S improvements with your manager and direct employess to reach the goal of 90 points
  • Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when needed
  • Communicates with the Manager regarding schedules and backlogs
  • Assists the Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation
  • Recommends equipment upgrades staffing adjustments improvements in procedures and working conditions and process modifications
  • Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching
  • Gives the team written and oral instructions
  • Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency
  • Follows departmental policies procedures and objectives continuous improvement objectives and safety rules
  • Maintain timekeeping and attandance recods for your grups using UKG
  • Issue corrective actions for employees who are not adhering to compony polices (safetyattandance etc)
  • Ensures that employees are progressing on training plans to achieve higher levels of performance and production.
  • Evaluates employee performance.
  • Responsible for first line employee relations and resolution of issues within their departments.
  • Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifukus QMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience preferably in a steel fabrication environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with steel fabrication-welding
  • Certificate or Associates degree in welding

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of welding procedures operation and set-up of all equipment reading and interpreting blueprints and creating jigs and fixtures
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 6S principles
  • Knowledge of quality principles
  • Computer skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • Ability to deal with conflicts and employee issues in a professional manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • LOTO certification required
  • Forklift operation certification required
  • Crane operation certification required
  • Must be able to write and speak English Language
