ICU Registered Nurse (RN) La Jolla CA

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care for critically ill patients in an intensive care setting. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who thrive in high-acuity environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care through advanced assessment monitoring and clinical intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring of critically ill patients

  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans

  • Administer medications treatments and advanced therapies as prescribed

  • Monitor patient responses and intervene promptly when clinical changes occur

  • Collaborate with physicians specialists and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate treatment plans

  • Support patients requiring advanced monitoring life-support therapies and critical care interventions

  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans recovery expectations and ongoing care needs

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Promote patient safety infection prevention and evidence-based nursing practices

  • Participate in emergency response situations and critical care procedures

  • Advocate for patients while providing compassionate family-centered care

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Previous intensive care nursing experience required

  • Critical care trauma neurological or surgical ICU experience preferred

  • Strong assessment communication and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
