ICC Certified Plans Examiner

Shums Coda Associates Inc. is a privately held company providing professional Building and Safety Consulting Services to jurisdictions to verify conformance with all applicable Building Codes. We are seeking full-time experienced ICC Certified Plans Examiner within California Arizona Colorado Utah and Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Review plans calculations and specifications for compliance with the most current adopted ordinances laws and state building codes.

• Preparation of plans review comment letter according to municipality direction and SCA standards.

• Meet and confer with the clients as-needed (via phone email virtual meeting or in-person) to clarify plan check comments.

Minimum Qualifications

• ICC Certified Plans Examiner with complete knowledge and full understanding of the International model building codes and standard construction methods.

• 2 years of experience working for a jurisdiction providing plan check reviews for both commercial & residential

• Skilled with complete life safety review (B. P. M. & E.).

• Computerknowledge and basicword processingexperience

• Must have a high school diploma; some college is highly desirable.

• Must have a valid Driver License.

• Must successfully complete standard background investigation.
