Job Summary
The Senior Director Regulatory Counsel represents the association and advocates its policy positions regarding consumer financial protection competition and innovation regulation and legislation primarily before financial regulatory Youll Do Stay abreast of regulatory legislative operational and market developments in areas of responsibility(i.e. consumer financial protection competition and innovation). Advocate before and serve as co-liaison with bank regulatory agencies industrycouncilsand other trade associations on a wide variety of banking issues. Prepare communications to agency officials (comment letters papers reports etc.) and advocate before regulatory agencies after input from ICBA members. Analyzebank regulatory proposals policies and industry initiatives for impact on community banks. Work with association members to formulate and draft association positions. Recommend andparticipatein and oversee the formulation of ICBA advocacy strategies goalspoliciesandobjectivesin area of expertise/responsibility. Provide subject matter and technicalexpertisetoassistlegislative efforts including legislative analysis drafting legislation preparation of testimony and participation in meetings. Serve on industry group task forces and working groups. Represent and communicate ICBA positions in industry forums and speak at ICBA and industry conferences. Provide subject matter and technicalexpertiseto ICBA subsidiaries. Respond to banker and press inquiries. Writearticles for ICBA publications on regulatory You Bring Bachelors degree required. Masters and/or JD preferred. At least three years of related experience in the financial services industry or with a bank regulatory agency trade association or law knowledge of financial services law and regulation. Excellent writing and research ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management co-workers and external ability to think strategically and work in collaboration with others to produce effective policy analysis and advocacy written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to recognize that candidates may not meet every qualification listed. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors including but not limited to experience qualifications location market data and internal equity.
