IBM MQ Exit Developer (C Programming)

We are seeking a highly skilled IBM MQ Exit Developer with strong C programming expertise to maintain custom IBM MQ exits that extend and enhance an enterprise messaging platform. This role focuses on advanced IBM MQ capabilities including security exits API exits channel exits and message exits. The developer will support authentication authorization message transformation and observability requirements across distributed and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with low-level C development a strong understanding of IBM MQ internals and the ability to deliver thread-safe high-performance code that integrates with enterprise security and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain existing IBM MQ channel exits API exits security exits and message exits using C.
• Develop and maintain thread-safe high-performance code for multithreaded IBM MQ environments.
• Support authentication authorization message transformation and observability requirements through custom MQ exit implementations.
• Integrate MQ exit logic with external systems including LDAP and REST APIs when required.
• Provide Level 3 support for IBM MQ exit-related issues within production environments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving MQ exits messaging behavior integrations security and performance.
• Partner with platform and application teams to evaluate native IBM MQ features that may reduce reliance on custom exits.
• Simplify and modernize legacy MQ exit implementations.
• Support IBM MQ migration and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain detailed technical designs coding standards deployment documentation and operational runbooks.
• Ensure appropriate lifecycle management of MQ exit code including version control deployment testing and rollback procedures.
• Ensure exit implementations align with enterprise security and operational standards.

Qualifications Required Skills

• Strong hands-on C programming experience.
• Professional experience maintaining or developing custom IBM MQ exits.
• Experience with IBM MQ channel exits API exits security exits or message exits.
• Strong understanding of IBM MQ internals and enterprise messaging architecture.
• Experience developing thread-safe code for multithreaded environments.
• Ability to write and maintain high-performance low-level C code.
• Experience supporting authentication authorization message transformation or observability requirements within IBM MQ.
• Experience troubleshooting IBM MQ exits in production environments.
• Experience providing advanced or Level 3 production support.
• Experience with source-code versioning deployment testing and rollback processes.
• Ability to work onsite in Dallas TX three days per week.
