Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hydro-mechanical systems Design Engineer to join our Package & Systems Development and New Product Introduction (NPI) this role you will be responsible for the design development and implementation of hydromechanical systems and mechanical design for industrial gas turbine products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality innovative solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:Lead the design and development of hydromechanical systems and mechanical design for industrial gas turbine packages ensuring compliance with technical specifications industry standards and customer requirements.
New Product Introduction (NPI):Participate in the NPI process from concept to production including prototyping testing and validation of new designs.
System Integration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical controls and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall gas turbine package.
Technical Support:Provide technical support and expertise during the installation commissioning and maintenance of gas turbine packages.
Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost reductions and implement changes to enhance product performance reliability and serviceability.
Documentation:Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation including design specifications Process & Instrument diagrams drawings and test reports.
Compliance:Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards safety regulations and company policies.
Educational background
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical engineering or related field
Technical Excellence/Preferred qualifications :
5 years of engineering experience
Exposure to Solar Turbines package and system products and processes is a plus
Gas turbine hydro mechanical systems design experience
Experience with Gas Turbine systems and their operation
Experience in reading and interpreting Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Experience in design and sizing of Hydraulic equipment or devices
Design experience utilizing Promis-E (V8i) software

Mid level (experience) in mechanical design engineering and manufacturing. Experience working in Agile Scrum teams is a plus.
Proficiency in 3D modeling and electrical schematics (eg: Creo and Promis.e)

Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.
Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.
Assists in building a complex prototype of product.
Summary Pay Range:
$112704.00 - $169056.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
