Job Summary

Title: HVAC Installation & Repair Technician

Job Description

Performs skilled diagnosis repair maintenance and installation of heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration systems on campus. Includes but is not limited to closed-loop systems chillers commercial refrigeration equipment cooling towers AHUs FCUs VAVs and all related equipment.

Position is designated as essential personnel.

Required Qualifications

Reporting to the HVAC Foreman the HVAC Technician will demonstrate working knowledge of HVAC systems equipment and experience as an HVAC Technician. Skill in the operation of tools and equipment associated with HVAC maintenance and experience with installation repair and modification of heating ventilation refrigeration and air conditioning and their controls. Ability to perform skilled diagnosis on campus systems including closed-loop systems chillers commercial refrigeration equipment cooling towers AHUs FCUs VAVs and related equipment. Valid drivers license and E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants. Will serve on an on-call rotation and be expected to be available for emergency call-in and overtime work.

DPOR licensure required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to interpret and follow mechanical drawings. Significant experience with a diverse university campus setting. Working knowledge of building HVAC controls.

Employment Conditions: Valid drivers license E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants and DPOR licensure are required. Position is designated as essential/emergency personnel.

Sign-On Bonus: A one-time sign-on bonus of up to $5000 may be available. Must be a certified/licensed HVAC technician and sign a minimum one-year employment contract; additional terms/eligibility requirements apply.
