Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and experienced HVAC Technician I to support the operation maintenance troubleshooting repair and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient performance of heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration equipment while maintaining a safe and comfortable facility environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with large air handling systems chiller plants boiler equipment refrigeration systems and building services maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections troubleshooting and repairs on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Maintain and service boiler house equipment including pumps pressurization units make-up units and associated mechanical systems.
  • Inspect test and maintain pressure vessels expansion systems and related safety equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC electrical systems control panels wiring and microprocessor-based controls.
  • Perform refrigerant recovery leak detection charging and environmental compliance procedures.
  • Service and maintain large Air Handling Units (AHUs) ventilation systems and related control equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance repair and optimization of industrial chiller plants and cooling systems.
  • Support the installation of split-system air conditioning units ductwork and associated HVAC components.
  • Assist with servicing and maintaining oil and gas-fired boilers ranging from residential to commercial applications.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections repairs system performance parts usage and maintenance activities.
  • Respond to facility maintenance needs and adapt to changing operational requirements while delivering excellent customer service.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in building services maintenance or commercial HVAC maintenance.
  • At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in HVAC or related mechanical trades.
  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining large chiller installations and industrial air handling systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of AHUs ventilation systems HVAC controls and associated equipment.
  • GID QAS qualification or equivalent technical certification.
  • Refrigeration Craft Qualification (F-GAS C&G 2009 Category 1) or equivalent certification.
  • Formal training and certification in servicing split air conditioning systems and air handling plants.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Active Safepass certification.
  • Strong troubleshooting diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and equipment manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RGI Qualification.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining oil and gas boilers in residential commercial and industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management controls.
  • Experience working in manufacturing healthcare educational or industrial facilities.
