Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Review residential construction plans specifications and builder requirements.
- Perform detailed HVAC takeoffs for residential new construction projects.
- Prepare accurate labor material equipment and subcontractor estimates.
- Generate proposals bid packages and builder pricing updates.
- Analyze plans for scope gaps design conflicts and value engineering opportunities.
- Work closely with design purchasing operations and leadership teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain estimating databases vendor pricing and costing information.
- Track bid activity and follow up on submitted proposals.
- Support contract reviews and project handoffs to operations.
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and strategic pricing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of HVAC estimating experience.
- Experience estimating residential new construction HVAC projects.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural structural and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems equipment ductwork ventilation and installation practices.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu or similar takeoff software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with production home builders.
- Experience estimating custom residential homes.
- Familiarity with HVAC design and duct layout concepts.
- Experience with Wrightsoft AutoCAD or other HVAC-related software.
- Knowledge of ACCA standards and residential building codes.
