HVAC Cost Estimator

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Cost Estimator to join our team in Irving TX. This role offers the opportunity to apply your HVAC estimating knowledge to commercial and multifamily construction projects ensuring accurate and competitive bids.

As an HVAC Cost Estimator you will prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing project plans and specifications. You will collaborate with Business Development vendors subcontractors and customers to deliver competitive pricing and support successful bid execution in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate bid requests for commercial and multifamily projects.
• Prepare weekly bid board calendar and ensure timely completion of pricing.
• Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze project documents to understand scope of work and identify potential pricing gaps.
• Prepare cost analysis by recapitulating material equipment and incurred costs.
• Generate estimates when predetermined standards are not available.
• Develop and maintain resource information on products vendors subcontractors and government requirements.
• Build relationships with customers to improve bid-day communication and advantages.
• Assist Business Development with procurement strategies lead suggestions selling points and needs review including attending sales activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical HVAC estimating or takeoffs or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Experience reviewing light commercial and multifamily mechanical plans.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as drawings specifications bid forms safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Effective verbal communication skills to speak before groups of customers or employees.
• Experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
• Ability to perform detailed equipment and material take-offs.
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimation software on GRDS such as Fast Duct and cross-reference tools is strongly encouraged.
• Well versed in current industry trends.
• Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to perform duties outside of scope when necessary.
