This Human Resources Generalist role is based 100% on-site at our manufacturing facility in Southfield Michigan supporting our newly acquired IDP brand.

Come see who we are at: would you do as our Human Resources Generalist

Youll work closely with the HR Director youll support a variety of human resources and safety initiatives that help create a positive employee experience foster a strong culture of safety and support the day-to-day needs of our manufacturing operation.

You will also:

  • Serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers by providing guidance on HR policies procedures employee relations matters workplace investigations accommodations performance concerns and other personnel issues.
  • Lead and support site safety initiatives including safety committee activities training audits incident investigations corrective actions and recordkeeping.
  • Support recruitment onboarding employee relations and retention initiatives for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Coordinate workers compensation claims and assist with return-to-work processes.
  • Support employee engagement recognition and development programs that enhance the employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws company policies and applicable safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data within HRIS and related systems.
  • Build strong relationships with employees through regular communication and a visible presence on the manufacturing floor.
  • Partner with the HR Director on special projects and other HR and safety initiatives that support the needs of the business.

The Skills and Experience You Need

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Safety or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting workplace safety programs and a working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws regulations and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication coaching and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms; experience with SuccessFactors and ADP eTime is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP PHR or SPHR) are a plus.
