HUMAN RESOURCES & CURRICULUM COORDINATOR

POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as the administrative coordinator for Human Resources and Curriculum & Instruction operations integrating the personnel and curricular functions of both departments. Responsible for managing substitutes coordinating training compliance and digital platform governance and providing administrative support for curriculum programs and initiatives

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources

  • Supervise and manage the substitute employee pool across the full employment lifecycle including hiring onboarding daily management and performance monitoring in consultation with building administrators
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for substitute staff on all HR-related matters policies and procedures
  • Represent the district at job fairs and serve as liaison to university educator preparation programs to support the certified candidate pipeline
  • Prepare HR reports employment verifications and records requests; coordinate annual compliance training acknowledgments and distribute HR-related staff communications
  • Maintain the HR section of the district website with current forms policies and informational resources
  • Coordinate the full employee separation process including offboarding documentation equipment return system access removal and exit interviews as directed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel records and sensitive employee information

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Administer district-wide digital curriculum platforms governing system integrity user access and license allocation for all staff including itinerant temporary and student teachers
  • Coordinate curriculum materials procurement vendor relations and distribution to schools; manage year-end inventory and prepare materials for the upcoming school year
  • Serve as the districts ISBE CPDU compliance administrator coordinate logistics for all professional development sessions
  • Provide administrative coordination for all Curriculum Department meetings and initiatives including Curriculum Council grade-level SEL Acceleration and curriculum pilot activities
  • Maintain accuracy of district curriculum content on the district website in alignment with board approved curriculum; coordinate district-wide academic events and program logistics
  • Coordinate acceleration eligibility meeting scheduling track placement documentation and generate student lists for retention review with related family communications
  • Manage operational and logistical functions of summer school programming under the direction of the Director of Curriculum & Instruction including PowerSchool enrollment family communications and program record-keeping

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school diploma with office experience Associates degree preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and competence with Microsoft Office programs
  • High propensity for positive interpersonal relations

Knowledge of:

  • Applicable employment laws HR compliance requirements and ISBE regulations
  • Rules regulations and laws regarding student records
  • Organizational structure workflow and operating procedures
  • Socio-economic and cultural background differences of the general school population

Ability to:

  • Operate computers and software to develop or maintain spreadsheets and databases
  • Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Examine operations and procedures to develop and implement new strategies/procedures
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works inside and is directly responsible for the safety and well-being students. The noise level is usually moderate but may be noisy active and busy at times.

Physical Demands: The employee is required to have contact with children and communicate effectively. There is constant standing and walking; frequent bending/stooping and squatting/crouching; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; and frequent use of close and distance vision and hearing in quiet environments.

Mental/Motor Demands: The employee frequently exercises flexibility works within time constraints maintains attentiveness and engages in social interactions requiring effective oral and written communication.
