The Department of Economic Security Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Human Resources Analyst. Under general supervision of the DBME Human Resources Supervisor the Human Resources Analyst will work independently on a variety of tasks and projects as required and deemed necessary to support the DBME Human Resources Staffing/Recruitment team. This position performs work of moderate difficulty dealing with sensitive and highly confidential personal information. This position has general knowledge of theories practices and procedures in the area of Staffing/Recruitment.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

All work including remote work should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist in recruitment efforts; submit and/or complete background requests; complete applicant references; conduct file reviews; complete hire packets and submit IT tickets for selected candidates.
Communicate with applicants to schedule interviews. Review interview results with the Staffing/Recruitment team and hiring managers; assist with interview outcomes.
Screen applicants and conduct background verifications; administers examinations and tests to assess applicants; follows up with applicants to gather missing information.
Provide day-to-day administrative support for the DBME Human Resources Staffing/Recruitment team.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
Federal and state employment laws statutes rules and regulations.
Current principles practices and methods used in the administration of staffing/recruitment.
Agency policies rules and regulations.
Principles and practices of modern organizational development.
Computer systems including Google Suite and Microsoft products.

Skills in:
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
Establishing priorities and manage a diverse workload.
Developing and implementing various improvement initiatives for assigned program areas.

Ability to:
Analyze specific problem situations and determine acceptable solutions within the framework of laws rules and regulations.
Performs research collect and analyze data and report information.
Negotiate and apply reason persuasively to resolve employee relations issues.
Comprehend and make inferences from written material.
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations decrease turnaround times streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Exhibit continuous effort to improve operations and streamline work processes.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources or closely related field.
Relevant HR Certification.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
