Artesia Blvd. Compton CA 90020Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pmStatus:Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-ManagementBenefits:Medical Vision Dental Life Insurance 403(b) Retirement plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) : 1Summary:With the support of and in partnership with the HSSP team the Substance Abuse Case Manager performs a variety of tasks to assist the most vulnerable individuals in permanent supportive housing in SPA 7 & 8 in their recovery from substances and in regaining control over their lives. The Substance Abuse Case Manager serves as a primary case manager provides information and support for program members and assists members in gaining admission to inpatient or more intensive substance abuse treatment settings as needed. The Substance Abuse Case Manager will model competence in wellness recovery and coping and is responsible for maintaining the highest quality services and efficiency of Duties and Responsibilities:Utilize harm reduction social environmental and motivational strategies to support clients in collaboration with licensed clinicians other counselors case managers and support Contingency Management interventions and linkage and referrals to outpatient and residential substance abuse and promote an environment that is strength based to assist clients in meeting their individual individuals living in permanent supportive housing working with the team to engage in services and accept treatment from the program staff; assist with enrollment process as and coordinate treatment with on-site ICMS providers to facilitate operation as a multidisciplinary team-based approach to clients living in permanent supportive linkage to stable housing (if applicable) and other supportive services as needed to assist clients to obtain housing stability in addition to client advocacy case management and benefit initial comprehensive case management assessment and develop a plan of intervention that addresses their barriers increases their income and assists them in maintaining permanent members individually on problems with transition from streets to home supportive independent living skills sobriety and accessing needed resources in the referrals to allied critical healthy living services for members on and account for time spent on client contacts and activities in client record in accordance with Department of Mental Health a current thorough knowledge of ongoing developments and new techniques in the fields of substance abuse mental health and behavioral health community resources and utilize these to provide comprehensive wrap-around services to :High School Diploma or GED or EquivalentCertification in substance abuse counseling (CADC I CADC II CADC III or similar credentials)Current valid California Drivers with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicleAble to transport members in your vehicleMinimum two (2) years experience as a substance abuse counselor and/or case manager in a licensed and/or accredited substance abuse treatment facilityAble to work in a high tolerance Harm Reduction model with members who have multiple barriersComputer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Word Outlook and ExcelDetail oriented with excellent time management organizational written verbal and computer skillsAble to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervisionAble to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certificationPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of 12-Step organizations culture terminology and literatureAssociates or Bachelors degree in related fieldCertification in CAADE and/or CAADACExperience in a dual-diagnosis settingWorking knowledge of criminal justice systemCertification as an Anger Management and/or Domestic Violence facilitatorMinimum 30 WPM typing speedBilingual in English/SpanishWork Environment:Combination of field and office environmentRegularly required to sit stand bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 occasion walk or drive to different local sitesWill necessitate working in busy and loud environmentsWill be exposed to elements like cold heat dust noise and odorMay need to bend stoop twist and sit throughout the day
