Position Summary: The housekeeping supervisor is a key individual in achieving the goals and quality standards of the housekeeping department. The housekeeping supervisor must impact all elements of the department from standards of cleanliness and associates morale to budgetary goals and inter-departmental relations. As such the housekeeping supervisor has responsibility for:Primary operation of the Housekeeping Department on a day to day with the DOS and Assistant DOS to be proficient in the administrative operation of applicable departments of responsibility and for other special projects as may be a working knowledge of all housekeeping cleaning equipment and preventive maintenance program for such machines. Responsible for training all associates on proper usage and handling of cleaning equipment and Functions:Ensure that assigned areas are properly cleaned dailyConsistently inspect assigned areas and turn in inspection reportsEnsure that all reports are prepared completely and promptlyEnsure that an effective and complete training program is in use and that all associates are well trained and re-trained as that SOPS are available current and in effectEnsure that proper key controls are in effectControl overtime through proper scheduling and immediate response to problemsEnsure that all associates are hygienically clean with clean complete uniformsImmediate response to all guest problems and correspondenceEnsure that Lost and Found articles are stored properly and that the correct logs are division goals in relation to accident prevention safety and fire prevention and Associate awarenessWork closely with Engineering Department to insure that the rooms and equipment preventive maintenance procedures are in effect and consistently carried outExperience:Previous hotel housekeeping experience is strongly supervisor experience a :Ability to effectively communicate in English and bilingual is a plusCommunicate and problem solve for guest issues/concernsAbility to coach and train fellow associatesPhysical Job Requirements:Must be able to be on your feet for an excess of 8 hours in one shiftConstant walking up to 8 hours in one shiftMust be able to push pull and lift up to 50 lbsEnvironment:Hearing and Speech; Must be able to speak to associates as well as guestsVision; Must be able to check for thorough cleanliness Literacy; Must be able to write down and communicate information between departments and to fellow associates and :Vacuum cleaners laundry equipment
