Job Summary
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HSE resource for facility leadership providing guidance and support on health safety and environmental matters.
- Develop implement and maintain practical HSE processes programs and initiatives that reduce operational risk.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of the EPS Global HSE Management System.
- Monitor HSE performance metrics and recommend corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local regulations including OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining HSE policies procedures and safe systems of work.
- Lead and support incident investigations root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs to employees and leadership teams.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement communication and awareness campaigns.
- Support environmental health and safety initiatives across multiple facility locations as required.
Job Duties
- Identify workplace hazards assess risks and implement effective controls.
- Develop and maintain health and safety plans procedures and safe work practices.
- Conduct HSE meetings and communicate performance goals and improvement opportunities.
- Support audits inspections and compliance activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements.
- Assist with the development of HSE policies and training materials.
- Travel as needed to support business operations and training requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related technical field strongly desired.
- Minimum three (3) years of HSE experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Must be willing to travel between Youngstown OH and Bridgeport WV. Additional travel may be required at times to attend trainings meetings and support business needs.
- Experience developing HSE policies procedures and safe work practices.
- Strong hazard identification risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Teams Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication training and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize work manage multiple projects and work with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
