Description

We are seeking an HSE Specialist to join our team at NOV Canada ULC EP 08 HSE - Support - 9302 department. The Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment working closely with various teams to identify and mitigate HSE risks. This role is an integral part of our commitment to health safety and environmental excellence.



Responsibilities
  • Conduct shop engagements and inspections to identify and address unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining HSE programs and procedures ensuring compliance with NOV standards and regulations.
  • Perform risk assessments job safety analyses and routine HSE observations documenting findings.
  • Participate in incident investigations identifying root causes and supporting timely corrective actions.
  • Support the delivery of HSE training raising awareness and building competency among employees.
  • Maintain HSE data including inspections incident reports and training records ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Analyze HSE data to identify trends and report findings to management verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Engage with operations teams to promote safe behaviors and compliance with established work practices.
  • Assist with hazardous waste management ensuring proper storage labeling and documentation as per regulations.
  • Stay updated with HSE regulations NOV policies and industry best practices contributing to a dynamic HSE culture.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Health Safety or Environmental field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant HSE experience is required demonstrating a strong track record.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA EPA DOT and other relevant regulations and industry standards is essential.
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and their application within management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present effectively.
  • First Aid CPR and AED instructor certification is an asset ensuring a well-rounded skill set.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or service environment is advantageous understanding the unique HSE challenges.
  • Proficiency in JDE Word PowerPoint Excel and NOVs HSE data management systems is required.
  • A proactive and safety-oriented mindset aligned with NOVs core HSE values is essential for this role.
