Job Description

Have you ever been a Safety Coordinator or led the Safety Committee at your manufacturing site Looking to develop your career further in health safety & environment Well we have an opening just for you in Jacksonville FL.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead by example within the assigned functional area offering guidance and support to peers troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth production operations.
  • Actively support production activities stepping in during shifts or breaks to maintain workflow and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with plant administration to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures promoting consistency and operational compliance.
  • Assist Plant leadership in enforcing policies and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for specialized areas such as forklift operations pallet sorting or repair lines providing expertise and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Fulfill assigned production duties ensuring quality and efficiency in line with plant performance goals.

The HSE Lead monitors production floor activity enforcing Safety First compliance for all production employees. This individual will partner with plant leadership to execute health safety and environmental initiatives performs safety audits ensures adherence to GAP safety and environmental SOPs to comply with all corporate policies goals and objectives.

What You Will Do:

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Monitors production floor activity and ensure plant personnel operate within CHEP safety guidelines

  • Assist with maintaining compliance with local State and Federal environmental regulations

  • Executes all GAP (CHEP safety program) strategies and program initiatives

  • Track performance on safety and report to supervisors and management

  • Supports the training and development of team members to meet corporate health safety and environmental guidelines

  • Maintain safety documents for all plant personnel

  • Lead safety committee and review all pending safety or environmental concerns risks and develop mitigation plans accordingly

  • Support and at times lead group projects targeting safety systems and manufacturing improvements

  • Work with Regional HSE Specialist and site leadership to address plant risks

  • Perform orientation safety training and walkthroughs for all new hires

  • Contributes to driving continuous improvement at the plant and strengthen internal policies procedures and systems around safety

  • Prior experience in a safety role in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong customer focus orientation

  • Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally

  • Experience monitoring HSE performance and programs

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to manage quality processes and motivate a team

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking ability

  • Comfort with Microsoft Suites including but not limited to: Excel Word and PowerPoint

What to Expect

Additional Site Details

  • Role is 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri approximately 3pm-12am with flexibility to come in earlier or stay later depending on business needs

  • Occasional rotating Saturdays based on production schedule

  • 3-Shift sort & repair operations with 120 employees

  • Semi-automated industrial equipment

  • 180000 sq. ft. manufacturing/warehousing facility with 20 dock doors

  • May require standing for long periods of time intermittent stooping/bending pushing/pulling reaching above shoulder and repetitively rotating hand/wrist/forearm with or without accommodation

Compensation Statement:

The salary range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
