Required:
1. Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills.
2. Drill team color guard cheerleading or dance team experience.
Desired:
1. First Aid and CPR.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Dance Team Coach will be responsible for recruiting administering and directing the Dance Team which will perform with the marching band at various events throughout the school year as well as rehearse and perform as a dance team beyond the scope of the marching band performances including competitions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise and prepare Dance Team for performances.
2. Schedule and attend all practices sessions before during or afterschool.
3. Participate in dance competitions outside of drill team and marching band performances.
4. Maintain a dance program and performance schedule throughout the school year.
5. Schedule all off-season activities including summer activities.
6. Submit to the Activities Office a year-end report including the following:
List of members
Awards or honors received
Summer activities
Recommendations for improvements
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
1. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
