HR & FinOps Administrative Assistant
Overview:
Benzinga is seeking a proactive growth-minded recent graduate to join our team as an HR & FinOps Administrative Assistant. This entry-level role blends people operations data maintenance administrative support and cross-functional collaboration. Youll work closely with senior team members contribute to a variety of projects and rotate through key areas to develop a broad marketable skill set in HR onboarding recruitment support and Financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support performance evaluation processes under guidance from HR leadership including gathering data coordinating timelines and preparing materials for reviews
- Assist with annual compensation and contract updates by compiling data maintaining records and ensuring accuracy for review cycles
- Proactively maintain and update the company org chart ensuring accuracy as teams evolve
- Support onboarding activities for new hires including documentation preparation scheduling orientation and follow-up communications
- Provide administrative support for HR and FinOps projects including meeting coordination budget updates employment status tracking and documentation
- Assist with recruiting activities including candidate sourcing support screening coordination interview scheduling and follow-up communications
- Contribute to onboarding and process improvement initiatives by gathering feedback and implementing necessary changes and new processes
- Learn and assist with policy maintenance compliance tasks and record-keeping
- Collaborate with managers to understand stafing needs and help prepare simple workforce plans
- Support employer branding efforts and candidate experience across channels
- Maintain organized documentation and records in line with regulatory requirements
- Proactively support FinOps through budget review and updates
- Take on special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned with mentorship
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in human resources finance business administration or a related ield
- Demonstrated interest in HR financial operations or business-wide process improvement
- Must have strong technical aptitude and proactively anticipates business and team needs identifying solutions before issues arise.
- Availability to work at Benzingas Detroit office up to 3 days per week
- Proficiency with common software tools (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace); quick learner of HRIS/ATS systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional approachable demeanor
- Curiosity initiative and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams; comfortable asking questions and seeking feedback
- Demonstrated integrity and discretion with confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of HR concepts (onboarding performance cycles recruiting basics)
- Experience with data entry reporting and analytic thinking
- Administrative and project support experience
- Familiarity with documentation policy awareness and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
- Adaptability and eagerness to take on new challenges
