Job Summary

Job Title: HR Compliance Assistant (Temporary)

Compensation: $24-$28/hr
Employment Type: Temporary (3 month assignment)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am-4pm)

Position Overview

Legacy Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented HR Compliance Assistant on behalf of a client to support human resources operations with a strong focus on compliance recordkeeping and audit preparation. This role plays a key part in reviewing employee documentation conducting I-9 audits organizing personnel files and supporting HR compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail confidentiality and the ability to manage high-volume documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Records & Compliance
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of employee personnel files
  • Identify missing incomplete outdated or improperly filed records
  • Organize and prepare files for scanning indexing and upload into HR systems
  • Maintain records in accordance with retention and confidentiality standards
I-9 Compliance Audits
  • Perform detailed audits of employee Form I-9 documentation
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify errors and required corrections
  • Assist with remediation and documentation of corrections
HR Compliance & Audit Support
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
  • Organize HR records compliance files and training documentation
  • Maintain tracking logs and provide project updates
  • Support HR projects and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • 2 years of HR administrative or compliance experience preferred
  • Experience maintaining confidential employee records
  • Experience auditing Form I-9 documentation
  • Understanding of HR recordkeeping requirements
  • Experience with HR systems (e.g. ADP) preferred
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of employee file management and confidentiality practices
  • Knowledge of I-9 compliance requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume documentation projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Requires handling confidential employee data and documentation
