Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM:

  • Including a scheduled 30-minute unpaid duty-free meal period. Paid rest periods and any additional meal periods will be provided in accordance with applicable California law. The schedule may vary based on operational needs and any additional hours worked must be accurately recorded.

Reports to: Human Resources Supervisor

  • This position is classified as non-exempt under federal and California wage-and-hour laws and is paid on an hourly basis. Employees are required to accurately record all time worked. All work performed whether scheduled or unscheduled must be recorded and will be compensated in accordance with applicable law. Employees may not work off the clock and must comply with company timekeeping procedures. Overtime weekend work and schedule adjustments may be required based on business needs and will be compensated in accordance with federal and California law.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department in a food manufacturing environment. The role supports recruiting onboarding benefits leave administration employee relations intake orientation HR document control reporting trackers and seasonal workforce activities while ensuring accuracy confidentiality and excellent customer service.

This position performs clerical administrative and customer service functions in support of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Clerk does not supervise employees does not have authority to hire terminate discipline promote evaluate or independently resolve employee relations issues and does not exercise independent discretion or judgment on matters of significance.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding support including new hire paperwork I-9 processing pre-employment requirements orientation scheduling personnel file creation and HRIS entry.
  • Conduct standardized new hire orientation using established materials and procedures and track completion compliance safety and onboarding training requirements.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support for leave administration processes including document distribution record maintenance deadline tracking and coordination of required documentation under established procedures.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment status changes open enrollment activities employee inquiries and carrier documentation.
  • Provide English and Spanish translation support for employee communications forms meetings and HR materials.
  • Maintain employee concern tracking logs and route concerns to appropriate HR staff while preserving confidentiality.
  • Maintain HR document control processes including personnel files policy acknowledgements forms and records retention.
  • Order and maintain HR office supplies and onboarding materials.
  • Schedule candidate interviews and coordinate recruiting logistics with hiring managers and applicants.
  • Maintain and update trackers for performance reviews employee objectives and goals and annual merit cycle activities.
  • During seasonal ramp-up periods assist with seasonal hiring letters recruiting activities onboarding support and workforce administration.
  • Prepare reports audit data file records and perform other HR administrative duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
  • Requires two years of administrative clerical customer service or HR support experience; HR experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR administrative processes confidentiality requirements onboarding leave administration and benefits support.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite HRIS systems databases and learning management systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent walking through office and production areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
  • Exposure to food manufacturing environments varying temperatures moderate noise and agricultural dust when visiting production areas.
