Job Summary:

Nature of work:

Reporting to the HR Business Partner and Program Coordinator this position will act as a key resource in HR and training for CU Anschutz Advancement. The HR Associate will regularly provide guidance and counsel on budget human resources and staff training for the Vice Chancellor of Advancement and their executive team.

Supervision Received: HR Business Partner and Program Coordinator

Supervision Exercised: No direct reports

Duties:

Assisting in Recruitment and Onboarding: 75%

  • Support the recruitment process by coordinating interviews managing candidate communications and assisting with onboarding new hires.

  • Prepare resumes and data sheet for Search Committee for candidate selection.

  • Reserve time on panel calendars and interview rooms.

  • Work with candidates to schedule interviews greet candidates at arrival follow up with candidates and provide post-interview updates.

  • Assist HR BP to create staff letters of offer initiate background checks process salary approvals and complete HCM hiring process.

  • Assist with streamlining training opportunities.

Employee Relations and HR Administration (Culture Commander): 25%

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries providing timely and accurate information and escalating issues to the HR Business Partner as needed.

  • Maintain employee records prepare HR documents and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Assist the HR BP in organizing and executing HR programs and initiatives such as training sessions employee engagement activities and performance management processes.

  • Utilize Human Capital Management (HCM) to complete various HR tasks.

  • Utilize Smartsheet to track various HR processes.

  • Assist with team retreat agendas and logistics as needed.

  • Provide Human Resources guidance to various divisions.

  • Serve as a backup to the HR Business Partner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Location:

Hybrid this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level

  • A bachelors degree in business human resources operations organizational leadership higher education administration social sciences behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Level

  • A bachelors degree in business human resources operations organizational leadership higher education administration social sciences behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of relevant professional experience.

A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related experience working in an academic medical center or higher education.

  • Experience utilizing Human Capital Management (HCM) Smartsheet and CU Careers.

  • Experience with recruitment job evaluations and candidate sourcing.

  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while working with sensitive information.

  • Attention to detail when dealing with complex processes.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range for this position has been established as:

Entry: $52000 to $60000

Intermediate: $55000 to $67000

The above salary range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
