HR Administrator Temp-to-Perm
Job Summary
Our client a well-established and growing organization in the distribution industry is seeking a Human Resources Administrator to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing compliance employee support onboarding benefits administration and day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced environment.
The Human Resources Administrator will serve as a key resource for employees and leaders while helping ensure HR processes remain compliant organized and employee-focused. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented proactive and comfortable working across multiple HR functions.
- Support administration of employee benefit programs including medical dental vision life and disability plans
- Process benefit enrollments changes and terminations
- Assist with open enrollment communications and employee education
- Respond to employee benefit-related questions and coordinate with vendors as needed
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees across multiple departments
- Manage background checks drug screenings and pre-employment requirements
- Complete I-9 verification and employment eligibility documentation
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure completion of required paperwork
- Maintain accurate and compliant personnel files
- Maintain employee records and HR data with a high degree of accuracy
- Track policy acknowledgments and required employee documentation
- Assist with HR audits reporting and compliance initiatives
- Support handbook updates and employment law posting requirements
- Help ensure adherence to federal state and company policies
- Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files
- Monitor CDL licenses medical certifications and expiration dates
- Assist with DOT compliance tracking and documentation
- Support compliance reviews and audits
- Support employee recognition programs company events and engagement initiatives
- Assist with internal HR communications
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR processes and policies
- Help foster a positive and productive workplace culture
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field preferred
- 2 years of HR administration or HR generalist experience
- Experience in distribution logistics manufacturing or other operational environments preferred
- Working knowledge of employee benefits administration
- Experience with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred
- Familiarity with DOT/CDL compliance requirements is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Strong customer-service mindset and employee-focused approach
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated dependable and highly organized
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow
