PURPOSE:
Perform a variety of administrative duties and responsibilities in order to provide support to other members of the Human Resources department.
BASIC FUNCTIONS
- Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrications safety programs and standards.
- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrications vision and values.
- Maintain and monitor personnel files and recordkeeping systems such as I-9s pre-employment paperwork E-verify and drug screens including all documentation for on-boarding of new employees.
- Support our widening regional structure by performing administrative functions in human resources including maintaining current documentation for staffing recruiting training grievances performance evaluations compensation and state/federal compliance.
- Assist with non-exempt branch recruitment by screening and coordinating interviews preparing offer letters and coordinating on-boarding.
- Assist branches with all areas of human resource functions.
- Respond to questions from all levels of employees regarding policy payroll and benefits issues. Follow-up on issues to resolve specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
- Assist with external and internal audits on HR/payroll data to assure data integrity.
- Perform specific research/investigation into HR best practices as assigned.
- Assist with unemployment cases workers compensation reporting and case management.
- Perform other related duties as required by Supervisor.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Minimum 2-year degree with 2-3 years administrative experience preferably within a human resources environment
- Experience with recruitment practices also knowledge of EEO and ADA regulations payroll and general HR policies and practices desired.
- Demonstrated organizational customer service problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Must have exceptional attention to details and strong analytical skills
- Must be able to handle multiple complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis
- Must be self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement
- Must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and tact
- Proficiency in MS Office including strong Excel and PowerPoint.
