JOB TITLE:

Part Time Office/Lab Assistant COIFPM

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform basic entry-level routine laboratory/research tasks and clerical duties for the Center of Innovation for Flow through Porous Media (COIFPM) on a part-time basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform technical laboratory and/or research tasks;
• Conduct laboratory preparation tasks under limited supervision;
• Secure record and process data and materials relating to tests and experiments;
• Data entry for updating inventory records;
• Assisting with inventory organization and asset management;
• Perform basic records maintenance;
• May be responsible for and supervise others in laboratory preparation proper storage and disposal of chemicals or biohazards;
• May assist employees in research projects and experiments;
• May sort mail assist with bulk mailing projects; sort deliver or pick up printed matter for distribution

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: None
• Required licensure certification registration or other requirements: None

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understanding of basic lab processes
• Knowledge of Word Excel and Adobe
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Able to handle highly confidential materials and information
• UW Safety Training or ability to complete at time of hire
