Position Overview

• Job Title: Rooms Inspector
• Location: 4595 Columbus Street Virginia Beach VA 23462
• Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor / Executive Housekeeper
• Schedule: Variable hours must include weekends and holidays.
• Work Environment: Modern hotel in the heart of Virginia Beachs Town Center business and entertainment district

Summary

The Rooms Inspector ensures that guest rooms cleaned by room attendants meet company and brand quality standards before they are released for sale. This is a quality-assurance role focused on inspecting finished rooms identifying deficiencies and confirming rooms are guest-ready.

Job Functions:

• Inspects cleaned and vacant guest rooms against brand and company cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Identifies and documents deficiencies (cleanliness setup amenities maintenance issues) and returns rooms for correction as needed.
• Confirms rooms are fully stocked with amenities linens and supplies before releasing as guest-ready.
• Updates room status in the property system so front desk can assign clean rooms promptly.
• Reports maintenance or engineering issues found during inspection to the appropriate team.
• Communicates recurring quality issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor for coaching and follow-up.
• Verifies proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals per material safety data sheets.
• Assists with cleaning tasks as needed to maintain room readiness during high-volume periods.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous housekeeping experience required.
• Able to communicate in English verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in applying quality standards.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
