Horticultural Attendant

The Horticultural Attendant to provide landscaping and campus grooming to the Southern University Baton Rouge Campus.

One year of experience or training in farming the care and maintenance of trees and shrubs or groundskeeping; OR

Six semester hours in a plant science or landscape field of study.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for maintaining and taking care of plants trees etc.; prune and trims trees and shrubs as needed; maintain flower beds remove dead grass or over growth of weeds etc.
• Assist Horticultural Attendant Foreman and Leader as needed.
• Assist with picking up paper on the campus grounds; assist with cutting and grooming the campus grounds; responsible for the overall beautification of the campus grounds as other crafts assigned to this department under the direction of the Horticultural Attendant Foreman
• Check lawn equipment tools etc. weekly; submit work orders as needed for repairs on equipment assigned during tour of duty
• Performs other related work as directed or required.

Compensation: The beginning salary is $16.06/hourly.
