HONOR GUIDE
Role Summary
Honor Guides play a key role in the educational mission of the National Medal of Honor Museum by delivering engaging programming and tours to the public.HonorGuideswill serve as ambassadorsfor theMuseum providing engaging andeducational experiences for visitors of all agesanddelivering fact-basedtoursand field trips. This role supports both the daily visitor experience andspecial eventsas needed.
In addition this role will work with the ResearchExhibits& Collections (REC)and Education departments tostudy the Museums collection exhibitsandhistoricalcontent to align and developtours andprograms with visitor interestsand public inquiry.
Essential Functions
Leadtours of theMuseums exhibits highlighting key themes historical contexts and artifacts.
Support daily touroperationbyassistingwith tourlogistics setup and inventory.
Adapt tourdeliveryto suit the interests and needs of diverse audiences including school groups families and adult visitors.
Monitor theMuseumguest experienceprovidewayfinding guidance and address visitor inquiriesabout exhibits programs and Museum policies.
FacilitatetheDustoffvirtual reality experience.
Deliver field trips and family programmingfor schools youth organizations and families visiting the Museum.
Ensure that all content delivered to Museum visitors isaccurate.
Collaborate with REC and Educations departments to assess and evaluatetours and programming.
Represent the museum positively and professionally.
All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Associate or bachelors degree in education museum studies history or relatedfield.
Experience working or volunteering in a museum environment as a docent gallery attendant or tour guide.
Experience teachingor working with multigenerational audiences.
Basic familiarity withMedalof Honor history.
Bilingual (Spanish speaking) a plus.

High School Diploma/GED
Energetic and positive
Strong organizational and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Comfortable working with diverse audiences families and students
Ability to speak read and understand verbal instructions in English
- Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Mustsuccessfully receive certification inthe National Medal of Honor Museum Tour and Field TripTraining and Assessmentin accordance withthe position training program timeline for each tour.
