Location: New York NY
Contract Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: Full-Time MondayFriday
Pay Rate:$29.00$36.00 per hour (based on experience)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Homeownership Development Project Assistant to support a busy Homeownership Program team in New York NY. This temporary assignment offers an excellent opportunity for an organized administrative professional with strong analytical skills and experience managing documentation spreadsheets and payment processing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling confidential information coordinating with multiple departments and supporting homeownership development initiatives in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review ongoing correspondence related to homeownership sales transactions.
  • Download and organize due diligence files submitted through electronic correspondence.
  • Review submitted documentation against established home sales checklists for completeness and coordinate follow-up requests with the legal team when necessary.
  • Calculate secured and unsecured loan values accurately.
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets and other electronic data management systems related to homeownership sales.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental communications to obtain required approvals for checklist items including MWBE and Environmental sign-offs using standardized templates.
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of requisition paperwork to verify numerical accuracy ensure totals are correct and initiate payment processing.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President Homeownership Program team and Loan Servicing team to prepare and process payment requests.
  • Maintain organized electronic records databases and project documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the office including document preparation filing scheduling assistance and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced office environment performing administrative or support staff functions.
  • Experience creating written materials forms processing paperwork maintaining electronic records updating databases and electronic filing systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience using SharePoint Outlook shared calendars and scheduling tools.
  • Strong spreadsheet creation and data management skills.
  • Ability to accurately input and maintain information within online databases.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with administrative staff project managers legal teams and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with housing affordable housing homeownership or community development programs.
  • Previous experience in a legal office real estate office or housing-related organization.
  • Experience reviewing contracts legal documents or real estate transaction files.
  • Knowledge of payment processing procedures and financial documentation.
