HOMELESS RESPONSE TEAM MEMBER Temporary

Summary:The City of Lawrence is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our multidisciplinary Homeless Response Team. This part-time position is field-based -youll spend the majority of your time outdoors in all weather conditions walking through encampments wooded areas and community spaces where unsheltered individuals live. Work also occurs in shelters drop-in centers and other community settings. The role is central to connecting unhoused residents with the resources and relationships needed for long-term :Conduct consistent outreach in encampments shelters and public spaces engaging individuals experiencing homelessness where they long distances and navigate uneven terrain safely while carrying basic outreach rapport and trust with clients assessing needs and advocating for access to benefits services and housing document services and progress in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).Collaborate with mental health substance use housing and peer support specialists to coordinate actively in team meetings and contribute to outreach and engagement professional boundaries confidentiality and ethical standards in all :Lived experience of homelessness mental health recovery or substance use recovery strongly Support Specialist certification is also experience working in outreach shelter or direct service with HMIS or similar systems communication organizational and problem-solving of local social services and housing to work outdoors for extended periods in all types of Details:Title: T/S Homeless Response Team Member (Part-Time)Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week variable hours depending on outreach needsClassification: Temporary/Seasonal; no benefitsLocation: Primarily field-based within the City of LawrenceBackground check & valid drivers license required.
