As an Assistant Home Repair Technician youll gain hands-on experience while contributing to work that truly changes OverviewThe Home Repair Assistant works alongside the Senior Home Repair Technician with home repair and modification services for low-income older adults and individuals with disabilities. This role assists with repairs safety improvements and accessibility upgrades that help clients remain safely in their homes. The position provides hands-on support with projects materials and client interactions while helping ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high ResponsibilitiesHome Repair & MaintenanceAssist with residential repairs and modifications including: Basic plumbing and minor electrical workLock repair and installation (doors and windows)Smoke detector installation and maintenanceGlass repair and replacementInterior/exterior door repairGrab bar installation and safety upgradesClient Support & CoordinationContact clients to schedule service appointmentsInteract respectfully and professionally with older adults and individuals with disabilitiesProject AssistanceSupport the Senior Technician with job preparation and executionPurchase materials as directedMaintain a clean safe and organized work environmentAssist in ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standardsQualifications1-2 years of handyman construction or home repair experience preferred (or equivalent hands-on skills)Experience using hand and power tools ladders and standard repair equipmentValid drivers license with a good driving recordStrong work ethic and reliability Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screeningSkills & AttributesAbility to communicate effectively and build trust with older adultsTeam-oriented dependable and supportiveResponsible stewardship of company vehicle and equipmentPositive attitude and professional demeanorPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand walk bend kneel crouch crawl and climb throughout the workdayFrequently lift and move materials over 50 visual abilities including close and distance visionWhy Join UsHands-on learning and skill developmentMeaningful work that improves lives in your communitySupportive team environmentOpportunity to grow within the field of home repair and community servicesCompensation$21.00 - $23.50 per hour based on experience and skillsNote: This position description reflects essential job functions but may evolve as organizational needs change.
