General Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Paraprofessional license
• Previous experience working with children preferred
• B.S. Degree required
• Must possess basic computer skills; i.e. keyboarding Microsoft Word
• Must have an experience record that indicates success in working with families

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and implementation of a schools (or school districts) family engagement activities
• Collaborate with District leaders to develop relationships and communication with community organizations and agencies that will support student achievement
• Serve as a liaison to building administrators teachers and community service agencies
• Assist students and families with transition to next grade level
• Conduct outreach activities to increase awareness of District #118 programs and services
• Assist families with community resources appointments transportation (when needed) and paperwork
• Participate in building committees as appropriate
• Connect parents/guardians with community resources
• Maintain standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees

Terms of Employment

• 180-day position with wages hours terms and conditions of employment in accordancewith the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and theDanville Education Association
