Join Our Team: Hog Farm Herd Technician
SUMMARY:As a Herd Technician you will play a vital role in the daily production operations on a hog farm. Working as part of a supportive team you will directly impact the health safety and welfare of our animals in a clean well-managed environment.
DAILY ROUTINE: You will focus on the hands-on breeding and farrowing of our herd.:
- Animal Care: Assist with the daily feeding watering processing castrating and tagging of gilts and pigs.
- Animal Movement: Safely handle catch and load sows and pigs across farrowing and breeding areas.
- Environment: Monitor barn rooms adjust ventilation controls and maintain the perfect climate for animal comfort.
- Sanitation and Safety: Power-wash walkways disinfect docks and maintain strict biosecurity and farm cleanliness protocols.
- Record Keeping: Complete simple accurate data tracking sheets and animal care paperwork on time.
