Job Summary:
Responsible for providing a variety of routine and/or complex tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination.
Job Responsibilities:
Understands test principles theory maintenance troubleshooting and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas.
Tasks to include but not limited to microtomy embedding staining reagent preparation. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumental as necessary.
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to perform above tasks and responsibilities.
Trained to complete tissue gross examination as needed.
Must meet the High Complexity qualifications as written in CLIA 42CFR493
Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: None required
Supervisor Experience: None required
Licenses & Certification: ASCP/AMT/ABB or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: <2 years
