The Histotechnician is responsible for performing routine histopathological tasks including microtomy embedding cryotomy immunohistochemistry and special staining procedures in preparing specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist.

Responsibilities

Cut routine paraffin sections of surgical and autopsy tissue for microscopic examination in the diagnosis and treatment of equipment and reagents for processing embedding microtomy and processing of tissue. Perform routine and special staining techniques. Label file discard and maintain tissue slides and various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols. Evaluates acceptability as associated with department testing.

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $27.15per hour - $45.34per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidates experience qualifications location training licenses shifts worked and compensation model.
