Youll work with tissue specimens prepare slides for microscopic examination operate cutting-edge equipment maintain accurate documentation and ensure seamless workflow throughout the histology lab. Salary and Benefits:

What Youll Do

  • Accession and receive tissue specimens.

  • Prepare and process specimens for microscopic examination.

  • Perform grossing and inking activities as allowed under CLIA requirements.

  • Prepare media reagents chemicals and solutions.

  • Conduct tissue processing embedding microtomy/cutting staining cryostat use and freezing.

  • Label and prepare high-quality slides for pathology review.

  • Examine slides microscopically to identify abnormalities reporting deviations with oversight.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues that may impact diagnostic accuracy.

  • Preserve store log file and track specimens and slides.

  • Maintain and clean instruments equipment and laboratory work areas.

  • Manage supply inventory to support continuous workflow.

  • Complete Agency-required QA/QC documentation accurately and on time.

  • Participate in compliance training and adhere to all regulatory standards.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Associates Degree required

  • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited histology training program required

  • Preferred CLIA qualifications to perform specified job duties:

    • Minimum 60 semester hours including:

      • 24 hours in medical lab technology OR

      • 24 hours combined across chemistry biology and medical technology (with at least 6 hours each in chemistry and biology)

      • Plus 3 months documented lab training in high-complexity testing

  • Previous histology technician experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy tissue pathology standard lab concepts and procedures

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • High integrity and confidentiality with sensitive information

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and leadership
