Days: Tuesday - Saturday
Hours: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

In this role you will:

• Performs tasks normally associated with supervision such as hiring training coaching scheduling directing and appraising the work of assigned staff

• Hold regularly scheduled one on ones with direct reports on at least a monthly basis

• Is an advocate for direct reports regarding ensuring ideas are heard/shared and in their career progression planning and efforts

• Maintain accurate records.

• Adhere to laboratorys quality control policies document all quality control activities and maintain a clean and well-organized work area.

• Maintain proficiency and training requirements.

• Ensure compliance with all regulations.

• Participate in inventory management special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Assist in staff development and training.

• Assists the Lab Manager in the maintenance/upkeep of documentation and records and preparation for inspections.

• Communicate with pathologists regarding laboratory issues clients needs and respond quickly and efficiently to concerns/feedback regardinghistologywithin the lab.

• Track and monitor laboratory quality indicators.

• Answer technical questions from pathologists and clients regarding lab processes andhistologyworkflows.

• Independently and proactively identify problems in the laboratory and institute appropriate corrective actions.

• Ensure operational compliance with the laboratorys SOPs and Quality Management Systems.

• Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.

Requirements

• Possesses an Associate degree inHistology Biology Chemistry or another related field

• 5 years of experience in the histology field including at least 4 years of experience gained after earning a relevant degree

• HT or HTL (ASCP) certification is preferred

• Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

• Must be detail-oriented and have high integrity and discipline
