Job Summary

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As ourHIM Specialist Sr you will play a pivotal role in the revenue cycle by maintaining the integrity accuracy and availability of patient health records throughout the medical record lifecycle. You will serve as a key resource within our Health Information Management department ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and HIPAA privacy laws while supporting providers and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Every day you will perform advanced HIM functions including document imaging complex chart analysis and the resolution of data integrity issues to ensure the accuracy of the Master Patient Index. You will be responsible for managing record completion processes reconciling rejected orders and supporting release of information (ROI) requests all while meeting established productivity and quality standards to drive operational excellence.

To be successful in this role you will possess a minimum of two years of experience in an acute care or healthcare setting along with demonstrated proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications. You should be a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills; while a high school diploma or GED is required an Associate degree in a health-related field and RHIT or RHIA certification are preferred to help us maintain the highest standards of data quality and healthcare compliance.

Job Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies upon hire and
  • 1-3 years Minimum of 2 years of Health Information Management experience in an acute care or healthcare setting or progress towards a RHIT RHIA or progress towards a healthcare or business college degree program with relevant related experience. upon hire and
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and HIM applications required upon hire and


Preferred

  • Associates Other Associates Degree in health-related field (RHIT) or completion of healthcare degree program (RHIA) preferred upon hire. upon hire and
  • Experience with data integrity chart analysis and record completion workflows preferred upon hire
  • Registered Health Information Administrator upon hire or
  • Registered Health Information Technician upon hire
