Job Description

JOB GOAL: Maximizes students fulfillment of their potential for intellectual and social emotional growth as able and responsible adults.

1. Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
2. Maintain the program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students and employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
3. Maintain the classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
4. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of the delivery of the curriculum at the classroom level in the form of lesson/unit plans.
5. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals establish clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
6. Strives to implement by instruction and action the districts philosophy of education instructional goals and objectives.
7. Assess the accomplishments/learning of students on a regular basis and provide grade reports as required.
8. Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations.
9. Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested.
10. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
11. Attend faculty and department meetings and serves on staff committee as required.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. MA DESE Grade 9-12 Business Certification Required
2. High school teaching experience preferred
3. Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students
4. Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
5. Ability to read interpret and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills required
