High School Special Education TeacherGuide

The STEAD School is seeking a Student Support Guide who is both an educator and adolescent advocate. This role combines teaching expertise with a commitment to supporting students academic social and emotional development.

The Student Support Guide will:

• Provide individual and small-group academic instruction remediation enrichment and mentoring.
• Teach in their area of specialty while contributing talents and interests across the broader school community.
• Support students as a generalist educator helping them develop academic organizational social and emotional skills.
• Design engaging student-centered lessons using approaches such as project-based collaborative and student-led learning.
• Monitor student progress provide feedback maintain records and communicate with families and colleagues.
• Implement IEP and 504 accommodations and support individualized student learning plans.
• Supervise students in classrooms on campus and during field trips and special events.
• Participate in Accelerator Week Exhibition Nights Student-Led Conferences recruitment events professional development and school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers counselors families and school leadership to address academic and behavioral needs.
• Contribute to a positive inclusive collaborative and safe school culture.

A bachelors degree and appropriate state licensure/accreditation are required. A masters degree prior teaching experience and specialized experience working with secondary students are preferred.

The ideal candidate is positive collaborative organized adaptable and passionate about adolescents with strong communication classroom management problem-solving and instructional skills. Experience with project-based and student-led learning is especially valuable.
