High School Security Officer

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Three years experience in security/public safety work
• Training in conflict resolution
• Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the Superintendent deems appropriate.

Job Goal: Provides security in the high school setting.

Reports To: Under the general supervision of the principal.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Ability to de-escalate student to student conflict and student to teacher conflict.
2. Friendly comfortable working with high school students.
3. Familiarity with email text messaging and data entry.
4. Monitors building activity to ensure student safety by walking the building frequently.
5. Monitors and enforces parking procedures checks parking identification stickers and parking lots.
6. Monitors cafeteria as needed.
7. Assists the administration as needed by electronically recording student attendance.
8. Stands outside before and after school to oversee students entering and leaving the building; boarding buses; etc.
9. De-escalate student to student conflict.
10. Assists in student search when applicable.
11. Assists teachers on an as-needed basis.
12. Assists administrators with emergencies.
13. Any other duties as assigned by the Principal.
14. Other duties as needed.

Certification/License:

1. ALICE (or equivalent) Safety training preferred
2. Safety Care (or equivalent) Restraint training preferred

Work Year: 180 Day Work Year

Hours6:00am-1:30pm

Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
