Job Summary

Position Summary

Manteno High School is seeking two Class Sponsors for the class of 2030 for the 2026-2027 school year. The Class Sponsor serves as a mentor and advisor to a designated student class providing leadership and guidance in planning activities fundraising events student elections concessions and school spirit initiatives. The sponsor works closely with class officers and students to promote engagement leadership development and class participation while coordinating activities throughout the school year.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students staff parents and community members.
  • Ability to coordinate events fundraising activities or student organizations preferred.
  • Ability to supervise student volunteers and maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of budgeting purchasing procedures and inventory management preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for school events and athletic contests.
Responsibilities
  • Distribute and promote class officer and student council petitions.
  • Organize and conduct class officer elections.
  • Coordinate Homecoming attendant voting.
  • Encourage student involvement and leadership development.
  • Identify and recruit student volunteers for leadership opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate Homecoming activities and class participation.
  • Design coordinate and sell Homecoming t-shirts.
  • Organize and oversee class fundraising activities throughout the year.
  • Coordinate and supervise volleyball and girls basketball concession operations.
  • Recruit schedule and track concession stand volunteers.
  • Order concession supplies beverages snacks and popcorn according to district procedures.
  • Maintain records related to fundraising concessions and student participation.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to the class and its officers.
  • Foster student leadership teamwork school spirit and class engagement.
  • Communicate with students staff and administration regarding class activities and events.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of student family and staff information.
  • Work collaboratively with co-workers and school staff.
  • Support students academic social and emotional growth.
  • Uphold school policies procedures and educational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
Salary
  • $1646.18 for the 2026-2027 school year
