If you are reapplying please contact Human Resources Functions for the Position:Required to perform inspections repairs component overhauls and threshold maintenance of gasoline and diesel buses and other automotive equipment and their subcomponents and perform other related work as assigned by the section Knowledge & Skills:Must be general mechanic familiar with all aspects of diesel engine repair preferably Detroit Diesel/ have strong electrical repair and troubleshooting have strong mechanical/hydraulic repair and troubleshooting have strong knowledge of current preventive maintenance be wellversed in current maintenance practices as related to wheelchairlift be computer Training & Experience:Must be high school or trade school have minimum of six (6) years practical working experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the heavyduty vehicle Job Requirement & Conditions:Must be familiar with current safety equipment and be able to preplan daily work schedules. Must have excellent work performance and attendance have demonstrated effective written and verbal communication meet or be able to meet all present and future license and certification requirements as may be required by City State or Federal have valid Hawaii State drivers license with clean traffic abstract (a current traffic abstract must be presented at time of testing) and must be able to pass State of Hawaii D.O.T. driving requirements for a Type B commercial drivers pass Companyadministered written and oral be able to meet standard physical requirements and pass Companysponsored medical examination and drug be willing and able to work various shifts overtime as directed holiday duty as required and assume daysoff as assigned.
