HEM Electrician (JO 2-26)

If you are reapplying please contact Human Resources Functions for the Position:Under the direct supervision of the section leadman safely participate in the inspection maintenance diagnosis and repair of heavy duty electrical/electronic systems and components typically found on transit buses including but not limited to cranking and charging systems electronic destination signs and fare boxes wheelchair lift systems computerized engine and transmission controls entrance and exit door systems troubleshoots and diagnoses all electrical and electronic systems on heavyduty vehicles and electric wheelchair liftequipment respective to division electrical and electronic system testing equipment and all other types of traderelated machinery and routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and Knowledge & Skills:Must be able to read and understand electrical/electronic schematics and to operate diagnostic equipment required. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose all electrical and electronic systems found on heavy duty vehicles and buses and must have strong mechanical/hydraulic repair and troubleshooting be able to safely overhaul and/or repair electrical and electronic system components as be knowledgeable of tools and equipment required to conduct all troubleshooting and Training & Experience:Must be high school or trade school have four (4) years experience with heavyduty vehicle electrical systems and/or automotive electrical Job Requirement & Conditions:Must be able to preplan daily work schedules. Maintain proper service be willing and able to work various shifts overtime as directed holiday duty as required and assume daysoff as be able to meet standard physical requirements and pass Companysponsored medical examination and drug be familiar with current safety equipment and have excellent work performance and attendance meet or be able to meet all present and future license and certification requirements as may be required by City State or Federal governments. Must have valid Hawaii State drivers license with clean traffic abstract and must be able to pass State of Hawaii D.O.T. driving requirements for a Type B commercial drivers pass Companyadministered written and oral meet or be able to meet all present and future license and certification requirements as may be required by City State or Federal tasks that require heavy physical effort such as lifting bending other duties as assigned.
