This position is located at our Bayou La Batre AL facility.

Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable!

Our Helpers are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision
• Assistwelders fitters pipefitters electricians and other trades as directed
• Move stage and secure materials tools and equipment throughout the shipyard
• Clean and prepare work areas including ships compartments and shop spaces
• Grind chip and remove slag rust paint or debris as instructed
• Set up and break down work platforms scaffolding and temporary structures
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision
• Support hot work confined space and shipboard operations per safety procedures
• Follow all shipyard safety rules PPE requirements and environmental regulations
• Perform fire watch duties when qualified
• Assistwith rigging lifting and material handling operations

If you possess a High School Diploma or GED and fundamental knowledge in marine or manufacturing industry we want to talk to you!
