Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Heavy Highway Construction Estimator to join our transportation division. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil roadway projects including grading paving drainage utility installations and other highway construction activities. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of estimating experience in heavy civil highway or roadway construction and the ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment.

This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil roadway projects including grading paving drainage utility installations and other highway construction activities. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of estimating experience in heavy civil highway or roadway construction and the ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for heavy highway and roadway construction projects.
Perform quantity take-offs cost analysis and bid preparation using estimating software such as PlanSwift AGTEK and ProEst.
Review project plans specifications contracts and bid documents to ensure complete and accurate estimates.
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and site conditions.
Coordinate with subcontractors by soliciting quotes managing RFIs reviewing submittals and tracking material pricing.
Communicate effectively with clients subcontractors vendors and internal teams throughout the bidding process.
Develop and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships to obtain competitive pricing.
Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting bid deadlines.

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil highway or roadway construction.
Proficiency with AGTEK PlanSwift ProEst or similar construction estimating software.
Strong understanding of heavy highway construction methods materials and estimating practices.
Ability to interpret construction drawings specifications and contract documents.
Excellent communication organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple bids and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Local or regional experience in Georgia is highly preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil highway or roadway construction.
