Job Summary
Sundt Construction is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for our project in Sparks NV. This role offers an excellent pay rate and benefits with a focus on operating Excavators Loaders and Dozers. Join our team and contribute to our success! Pay Rate is $45/hr working 40 hours per week. An additional daily per diem is offered at $120/day worked to qualified candidates. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen as well as background check.
Job Summary
Safely operates a variety of heavy equipment not limited to; backhoes excavators dozers loaders graders haul trucks dump trucks water trucks. Will be responsible for preventative maintenance and pre-shift walk around of the assigned equipment to assure safe operation.

- High proficiency in all related equipment preventative maintenance.
- Inspect subordinates work ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications explain deficiencies and take any necessary corrective action.
- Eliminate WASTE such as waiting rework transporting material storage and time.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of three years (level I) four years (level II) five years (level III) and six plus years experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings specifications safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
- Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework stairs ladders and scaffolds.
- Will lift push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Required to use hands to grasp lift handle carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop kneel or bend on an occasional basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes gloves safety glasses hearing protection hardhat vest etc.)
- Move in and around confined cluttered and uneven areas.

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Perform pre-operational checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and fellow team members to coordinate work activities.
- Load and unload materials ensuring proper placement and securement.
- Follow project plans and instructions to complete tasks accurately and within specified timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area keeping equipment and tools in good condition.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced operators promoting a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures including drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment with a focus on Excavators Loaders and Dozers.
- Valid heavy equipment operators license or certification.
- Proven ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently with a strong commitment to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and adapt to changing project demands.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to pass a physical examination to ensure fitness for the role.
